On “Joyful” Mondays, we celebrate the sacred vocation of Motherhood. Mary gave birth to and raised Jesus as her son, as a man, as the son of a carpenter. In doing so, she presumably felt the same love, worries, and devoted the same hard work and energies to his well-being. Today, as I pray upon the birth of Jesus, I pray for my children’s mother and all mothers: may they be happy, healthy, holy, strengthened and fortified in all that they do. Hail Mary, full of grace.
