On this “Joyful” Monday, we celebrate the Holy Name of Mary. Mary, whose purity of soul inspired her to accept the call of God despite her initial trepidation, inspires all of us today to give thanks to God and, like her, to “proclaim the greatness of the Lord.” We proclaim His greatness because “The Mighty One has done great things for me, and holy is his name”…. and holy also is her name.
