Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee, blessed art thou amongst women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen. The "Angelic Salutation" as this prayer is sometimes referred is derived largely from the Gospel of Luke. At Luke: 1: 28, the angel Gabriel appears to Mary and tells her "Hail , favored one! The Lord is with you." Mary then travels to visit her relative, Elizabeth, who upon seeing her, says "Most blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb." Luke 1: 41-42.
