“Sorrowful” Fridays transport our prayers to the Crucifixion. As Jesus hung on the Cross, He directed His Mother: “Woman, behold your son” referring to the disciple whom he loved. John 19.26. Mary was thus commissioned by Jesus himself to care for us as she did for Him. May we approach our lives secure in the nurturing maternal love of the Mother of God.
