Our “Sorrow” on this Friday arises from our turning away from Jesus. In the same way that Pilate attempted to wash his hands of the cruelty to be meted out to Jesus, so to do we turn away from the reality around us. We are called to live and announce the good news. Lord, today, I pray for the courage to live a fully holy life and to fight for the things that are consistent with Your will. Help me to serve the poor and the homeless. Help me to love those who are unloved. Help me to fight for the unborn. Help me to fight against injustice.
