As I pray today, my meditation transports me to our Lord’s Passion and Crucifixion. Pilate attempted to wash his hands of responsibility claiming “I am innocent of this man’s blood.” Matt. 27: 24. In the end, Pilate was guilty of the sin of omission for failing to actively intervene to save a just man. Lord, I pray for courage this Friday- courage to be the voice of justice for the weak, for the oppressed, for those whom you have placed in my path. I pray not to wash my hands of responsibility you have entrusted to me.
