On “Sorrowful” Fridays, we pray with Jesus’ divine example. We see from his loving sacrifices that ultimate good arises. As we recall those whom we know lovingly tolerate our sinfulness or lack of loving thoughtfulness, let us pray to live holy lives – as the good that arises from their loving sacrifice.
There is no “Sorrow” this Tuesday because love conquers all. Jesus teaches us to turn the other cheek not out of weakness but rather out of strength. Matt. 5:39. Make my life reflect Christ’s enduring love – with every breath I take, with every step I make, with every word I speak.
“Sorrowful” Fridays present us the opportunity to view our life’s challenges with a different lens. Often, we pray that our crosses be lightened but maybe we should ask for a stronger, Jesus-like strength to carry ours and those of our neighbor.
